Avax Releases Avax FS200 Storage Bridge
Avax International announced the availability of a high-performance,
rack-mountable fibre-SCSI bridge with a suggested list price of
under $4,000. According to the company, the Avax FS200 Storage Bridge
allows data transfers between Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks
(FC SANs) and SCSI devices. The FS200 has a single 2-Gigabit Fibre
Channel port to connect to point-to-point, arbitrated loop, or switched
fabric topologies. Small Form Factor Plugable (STP) transceiver
support includes copper, multi mode, and single mode optical fibre
for distance of up to 10 kilometers. The two SCSI buses are LVD/SE,
with automatic negotiation for Fast, Narrow, Wide, Ultra Wide Ultra
1, and Ultra 160 SCSI.

21st Century Software announced availability of VFI/X (Vital File
Identifier for Distributed Systems), an addition to its DR/VFI product
family. According to the company, VFI/X provides the same quality

Novell unveiled SUSE LINUX 9.1 Personal and SUSE LINUX 9.1 Professional,
which are based on the 2.6 kernel. According to the company, SUSE

interfaces.
